After
attending the artschool in Stuttgart, Hans Peter started making
designs for the WMF factory in 1884 from his own atelier in
Esslingen (Germany). In 1889 he became the head of the handicraft
department at WMF. Peter returned to Esslingen in 1899 and
founded a "Werkstatt für Kunstgewerbe".
He headed the firm until it was taken over in the 1920's by
"Württembergischen Alfenidewerken
Peter & Linse KG". Over the years the name
of the factory and the goods they produced changed several
times. The pewterware that was marked "Juventa
prima metal" was probably only produced from 1902
until 1908.
